Xdvik, the kpathsea version of xdvi, is a previewer for DVI files produced e.g. by the TeX or troff typesetting systems. See the file INSTALL for information on how to compile and install xdvik. The `k' extentions for xdvi were written by many people, whose names are scattered across the source files. Xdvik is hosted on SourceForge. For the most up-to-date information on xdvik, please visit: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xdvi/ Your feedback is essential for improving xdvik, so please send all requests to one of the following web pages: For feature requests: https://sourceforge.net/p/xdvi/feature-requests/ For bug reports: https://sourceforge.net/p/xdvi/bugs/ Or email them to the tex-k mailing list: http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/tex-k Xdvik differs from original xdvi mainly in its tight integration into the web2c TeX system (the kpathsearch library). It also has some additional features, like support for hyperlinks, a page selector and a few different GUI elements. Xdvik is free software. Paul's original files use the X Consortium copyright conditions. Some kpathsea files and libraries used in xdvik are covered by the GNU General Public License and the GNU Library Public License -- see the files COPYING*. New versions of xdvik are available from CTAN:dviware/xdvik as well as from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xdvi/files/ You can also obtain the most current (unstable, experimental) version from the Subversion repository on sourceforge; see the file README.SVN for details. A change log of the different versions is contained in the file texk/xdvik/CHANGES. Most of the files in this directory are now carried over from TeX Live. The files belonging to xdvik are: .indent.pro BUGS CHANGES INSTALL README.SVN README.xdvik README_maintainer TODO For more specific information on the various modules, see the README files in the subdirectories. This version of xdvik supports Postscript Type1 fonts. If you observe that xdvik is still generating PK versions of fonts that you think you have Type1 versions of, please consult the file texk/xdvik/README.t1fonts. Enjoy!
